Matthew 10:30

"But the very hairs of your head are all numbered."

Alma 40:23

"The soul shall be restored to the body, and the body to the soul; yea, and every limb and joint shall be restored to its body; yea, even a hair of the head shall not be lost; but all things shall be restored to their proper and perfect frame."

Doctrine and Covenants 9:14

"Stand fast in the work wherewith I have called you, and a hair of your head shall not be lost, and you shall be lifted up at the last day. Amen."

Leviticus 14:9

"But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head..."

As you may have gathered from the scriptures today, it happened:

Dad had his head shaved :)

("Capillus" being the Latin word for hair)

Why the smiley face? Well, first of all, he looks just as handsome as ever. Secondly, it's one step closer to him coming home. Thirdly, he gets the visual on a childhood scar he's never seen before—he was pretty excited about that.

Fourthly, and perhaps most importantly, the scriptures Dad chose for this entry remind me of God's infinite and perfect love for us. God knows who we are. He knows us as individuals. He cares for us as individuals. Not a hair shall be lost. When things seem to be slipping through our fingers, when our troubles loom overhead, when we feel overwhelmed and on the brink of darkness—if we will reach out to our Heavenly Father through prayer, study, and obedience, He will remind us of His love. And as we prove faithful, He will uphold His promise: "He that overcometh shall inherit all things..." (Revelation 21:7)

So whether you are literally or figuratively losing your hair, remember that God loves you with an infinite and perfect love. You are not lost to Him. With Him, all things are possible.

"Howbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven" (Judges 16:22).

There is always hope.

“Pues aun vuestros cabellos están todos contados.”

Alma 40:23

“El alma será restaurada al cuerpo, y el cuerpo al alma; sí, y todo miembro y coyuntura serán restablecidos a su cuerpo; sí, ni un cabello de la cabeza se perderá, sino que todo será restablecido a su propia y perfecta forma.”

Doctrina y Convenios 9:14

“Consérvate firme en la obra a la cual te he llamado, y ni un cabello de tu cabeza se perderá, y en el postrer día serás enaltecido. Amén.”

Levítico 14:9

“Y acontecerá que al séptimo día, se afeitará todo el pelo de su cabeza…”

Como lo habrán deducido de las escrituras de hoy, pasó:

Papá se afeitó la cabeza :)

¿Por qué la carita sonriente? Bien, primero que nada, él se ve tan apuesto como siempre. Segundo, está un paso más cerca de volver a casa. Tercero, puede ver la cicatriz que recibió cuando era más joven – él estaba muy animado en cuanto a eso.

Cuarto, y tal vez más importante, las escrituras que Papá eligió para esta entrada me recuerdan del amor infinito y perfecto de Dios por nosotros. Dios conoce quiénes somos. Él nos conoce como individuos. Él nos cuida como individuos. Ni un cabello se perderá. Cuando las cosas parecen írsenos de las manos, cuando nuestros problemas parecen desbordarnos, cuando nos sentimos abrumados y al borde de la oscuridad – si buscamos a nuestro Padre Celestial  a través de la oración, estudio, y obediencia, Él va a recordarnos de Su amor. Y al mostrarnos fieles, Él va a confirmar Su promesa: “El que venciere heredará todas las cosas…” (Apocalipsis21:7)

Así que ya sea que estén literal o figurativamente  perdiendo su cabello, recuerden que Dios los ama con un amor infinito y perfecto. Ustedes no están perdidos para Él. Con Él, todas las cosas son posibles.

“Y el cabello de su cabeza comenzó a crecer después que fue rapado.” (Jueces 16:22)

Siempre hay esperanza.
